I have followed your instructions but, after enter MCC/MNC code (21401), NCK (12345678) and tap OK it appears the message

    Fail to Set Locking Status

Please, what I am doing incorrectly?

It works on a Omnia, just tried today. As expected, many Samsungs fall into this hard-reset + provider lock trick.

Hi Guys, I found that at step 4 (2 in second method) that you need to add a 6th digit to your MCC/MNC code. This site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=465597&page=15 suggested trying every digit to get it to work. This worked for me for Orange UK on Omnia phone. Code was 234334
    good luck…

HI Ovan. Great on you. I live in Sydney, “3” has been bought up by Vodafone, six (6) months ago, do you think i will be able to unlock my i900 Omnia, now? Did you entered 50506_, or 50512_, or 50515_, and what should it be the under score value?
it should be between 0 up to 9. Thank you very much for your help.

    Heya guys. Quick tip –
I got the failed to set status thing, and I realised my Omnia had the “phone” turned off. Try turning on your “phone” thing, and if that doesn’t work, try taking out the sim card and doing the same thing.
    Cheers
    LM

Hi! I am with Cell C, and have a contract sim card. I have a secondhand Samsung I900, and I want to make sure if it is not locked to CEll C, because my GPRS and MMS settings are not working on the phone. Do i need to unlock my phone, or do I need to make a sim swop?
