If you want to change the location of Samsung Omnia ringtones, you have to edit a registry entry on your device. If you don’t have a registry editor check my list of Some Must Have Freeware For Pocket pc.Now follow this steps to change the ringtones location on samsung omnia.

1. Open the desktop / pocket registry editor. Then navigate to HKey_Current_User / ControlPanel / Sounds / RingTone0

2. Then you have to change the value of “SavedSound” to your chosen ringtone directory. But there is a problem with this hack. You can only use root directory location. It will not work in a sub-folder, even though you specified in the registry. Just move your ringtones (mp3 and wma) to root directory like My Storage.

3. Then save and Exit registry editor and soft-reset you Omnia. You are done.

Have fun with this little trick for Samsung omnia!

Note: If you get a workaround plz let me know Thanks.

    1. ok..the easy way is..get a memory card…put songs on it….go to media album..click on up..find where you saved your music…then they will come up in media album….press menu—set as—-ringtone

      1. Actually, if you don’t do the registry edit and just do this, it’ll automatically copy the ringtone to /My Documents/My Ringtones, therefore you’ll have two copies of it, but the one in the root directory of your phone will be the one used for the ringtone. You need to do the regedit.

      2. the ring tone to be copied to either
        1. directly to your storage card (not in a directory)
        2. in the “my storage” and also not in a directory.

go to settings/sound settings/ring and choose the ring tone from there.

this way no space from the main memory shall be consumed
